I am a feminist scholar activist who is strongly committed to building a more inclusive and equitable society. My work is driven by a deep commitment to knowledge valorization and societal outreach, and I strive to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world impact. By emphasizing the interdependence of academia and activism, I passionately advocate for research that is informed and inspired by lived experiences and frontline practice. My aim is to make feminist theories accessible not only within academic spaces but also to those who need them the most outside academia. My dedication to bridging this gap is reflected in my professional track record, where I have consistently prioritized the dialogue between research theory and the experiences of marginalized communities.

I am the author of two books that promote the understanding of Islamic feminisms. “Einführung in islamische Feminismen” (2016, 2020) makes different perspectives of Islamic feminism accessible to lay readers, shedding light on the major contributions of Muslim female figures to women’s empowerment, gender equality, and social justice. “Islamic Feminism: Discourses on Gender and Sexuality in Contemporary Islam” (2020) sets out a rationale for the compatibility of Islam and feminism, showing that Islamic feminism is a valuable lens for analyzing the intersection of religion, gender, and sexuality, and promoting decolonial Arab feminist scholarship. It also highlights the importance of engaging with non-Western forms of feminism.
